First Beverage Ventures makes select venture investments in early-stage beverage-industry companies. We target small companies that show promise in growing segments of the industry, and we provide both investment capital and advisory services such as placing an industry expert on the board of directors or identifying and securing the hire of a strong manager to lead the company. Samples of the types of opportunities we seek include:

  • A functional water supplier with an innovative product who seeks both capital and industry expertise to grow and expand the company
  • A craft brewer that has penetrated a geographic market but is unable to cost-effectively distribute product to additional markets
  • A portfolio company with strong distribution seeking capital to expand its roster of properties

As with other industries, having a compelling product or service is critical but not sufficient for success. Relationships and capital can mean the difference between having a good idea on paper versus having a successful company built around that good idea.
